Nikolai, the son of Russian emigrants and a typical Japanese student, is completely unaware that the world he knows is going to be turned on its head. Things that are common and routine for him will come into conflict within him with ghosts from his past. Nikolai will need to make a decision about who he can truly put his faith in and figure out why he has caught the attention of wealthy and powerful individuals, who have the ability to diminish the worth of the lives of average people.

Himitsu has known Nikolai since they were children. She is kind, compassionate, and constantly concerned about him, but she also has a tendency to be overbearing at times. But can she actually find contentment in a straightforward friendship? Perhaps her undying devotion to Nikolai throughout the years has resulted in a reward of some kind.

Catherine is Nikolai’s ex-girlfriend who left Japan around a year before the events of the game. The circumstances surrounding their split were far from ideal, and Nikolai continues to be haunted by the experience. It’s possible that he would have forgotten about Catherine over the course of time, but she suddenly shows up again and enrolls in his class. Why does she seem to have come back, and does she still love him?

The president of the board of trustees of Nikolai’s school is Ellie’s grandfather, and Ellie is his granddaughter. She is a headstrong and proud young lady who is well aware of her own value, yet she does not lack zeal. Is she indeed as straightforward as she seems at first look, or does a free spirit lurk below the facade of a well-mannered lady?

Kagome has been chosen to represent Nikolai’s class as the class representative. Before a particular change of circumstances, he had never really paid much attention to her, but now they are forced to spend more time together and get to know each other better.
